Partners Welcome – “Help Unleash the Power of Partnerships”

One of the many strengths of soil and water conservation districts is their willingness and capacity to partner with public/private landowners, organizations and agencies to put conservation “on the ground,” and educate citizens about the need to protect and restore our local natural resources. Because of our organization’s unique structure and diverse array of partnerships, we have the ability to attract and leverage project funding and other resources that can result in highly successful, cost effective conservation projects. Do you have a natural resource concern or issue that you would like to see addressed in Clermont County or the East Fork Watershed (erosion, water quality, storm water, drainage, land preservation, citizen and community environmental education/awareness, etc.), but not sure where to start? Or maybe your group or organization has similar goals/programs and feel both parties could benefit by working together. If you have ideas for a potential partnership, please contact us to explore the possibilities.

John Hardin Student Internship

This is a seasonal, paid, college-level internship that is available through the soil and water conservation district. The internship is usually offered annually during summer months but subject to workload/project needs and funding availability. This can be a work/study co-op position.

Qualifications: applicant must be a student enrolled in a college level program in the natural resources or a science related field of study. Priority for filling the internship will be given first to applicants who are most qualified to perform the duties of the advertised position. However, given equally qualified applicants, priority will be given to students who are residents of Clermont County or attend college in Clermont County.  If a position is currently being offered, the announcement will be on our website. Contact the District for further details or questions about this program.

The Internship is offered in memory of former District Board Member John Hardin of Jackson Township. John served on the Clermont Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisor’s for 13 years and his dedication to conservation and stewardship of the land was an inspiration to many landowners throughout the County and region.

Other Internship Opportunities

The District provides occasional opportunities for high school and college level students to gain valuable career experience through unpaid internships. Interested students can contact the District to explore opportunities of mutual benefit.
