Education and Outreach

Clermont SWCD offers free programming to any school, library, scout troop, camp, and other youth organizations located within Clermont County. Our programs prioritize experiential, inquiry-based learning that focus on conservation issues found here in Clermont. We work hard to keep our programs aligned with the most up to date science, math, and social studies standards. We offer two main types of programs: grade specific programs that have been aligned to state science standards and project based programs that are available to all grades. Grade specific programs are taught in a 1 hour block for a single class. Multiple classes can be booked on the same day, but each class must be booked as its own program. You are welcome to schedule a program that is not listed under your grade band, just know that it will not be curated to your grade’s standards. Please take a moment to review our School Program Guide for an overview of the programs we have to offer. If you are interested in a program that you do not see listed here, let us know and we would be happy to work with you to develop a program that meets your educational needs.

Programs can be booked Tuesday through Thursday beginning in August for the upcoming school year. When making programming requests, please be sure to include:
• the program you would like to book,
• proposed dates,
• number of programs requested, and
• number of students in each program.

During the height of COVID-19 shut down, we worked with regional District educators to develop virtual programs and resources to best support your teaching needs. While this website is not currently being updated with new content, please check out our existing programs and feel free to use them as you see fit in your classroom.

PLEASE NOTE: As we work to hire a new Education Coordinator, we have temporarily suspended scheduling programs. We hope to be up and running again in November 2023. Until that time, questions can be addressed to jmcmanus@clermontcountyohio.gov.
