Job Title: Education and Communications Coordinator
Reports To: District Director
Status: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 40 hours/week. Five eight-hour days with occasional weekend/evening events and meetings
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Purpose:
Using current best practices in education and behavioral science, the Education Coordinator will develop, deliver, and assess innovative education programs that support specific conservation outcomes approved by the District Director and Board of Supervisors.
The Education Coordinator will collaborate with community partners to inspire and empower audiences of all ages to take individual and collective action for conservation in Clermont County.
With an eye toward continuous improvement, ongoing professional development is an expectation via webinars, research articles, and networking.

The end goal of Environmental Education is a citizenry of educated, skilled, motivated people who take action to solve environmental problems and prevent new ones. While synthesizing and sharing what is currently known about behavioral change theory, the Education Coordinator will facilitate collaborations with a wide spectrum of organizations and people toward action-oriented civic engagement (individual or group activities addressing issues of public concern.)
Other Job Responsibilities:
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in science, environmental studies, environmental education, conservation psychology, or related field required.
Other Skills and Abilities: A direct working knowledge of conservation issues as they apply to soil and water. Knowledge of solid waste management and recycling issues a plus. Collaborative leadership style. Strong written and oral communication skills. Self-confident self-starter. Able to see the big picture as well as manage details. Able to problem-solve and delegate. Very well organized. Proficient in using word processing and spreadsheet software, and willing to learn new applications. Experience facilitating; willing to achieve goals by influence rather than by direct control over others. Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks. Comfortable reading and paraphrasing scientific research for the general public. Knowledge of assessment tools and current impact research. A valid Ohio driver’s license is required.
